Week 12: Car front - radiator grille and fog lamp
In this week, I have to re-create the shape of the front bonnet, because the front bumper includes the radiator grille and fog lamp, which it is truly another difficult process.
Firstly, the module for the radiator grille has to be created by measure the size from the car module; then, the outline was drawn on the MDF board; in term of cutting from the middle, I drilled a hole to the board, then using the jigsaw to cut the shape and sander to make the edge smoothly.
Also, it is same process to create the front lamp shape and round radiator shape for the front bumper.
After the modules are ready to build, they were under the metal sheet and use the plastic hammer and some flat edge timber pieces to beat the shapes, the front radiator grill, and the front lamp shape.
Since I notice the Ferrari 250 GTO has a entire front bonnet; hence, I try to create the front metal bonnet in one single piece; however, I have found that it is not a easy and simple way to build following the original design. Finally, I created a similar bumper shape with the radiator grille, fog lamps and the radiators.
